Back to our Review now....

To begin with, We Hate Bath Time like we hate anything that passes our Home's premises.

So, let's see if this BON Organics Pet Soap thingy solved our bathing woes. :P :D

Brand: BON Organics

PriceRs. 98.00 INR

Ingredients:

Saponified Organic Coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera) Oil)], Pongum oil [Pongamia Glabra],  Organic castor oil (Ricinus Communis), Organic Neem oil (Melia Azadirachta), organic aloegel [Aloe Barbadensis], Canola oil (Brassica Campestris) Essential oil of teatree  (Melaleuca Alternifolia), Eucalyptus [Eucalyptus Globulus], Peppermint [mentha piperita], Citronella [Cymbopogon Nardus] lemongrass [Cymbopogon flexuosus].

It seems this thingy is Not Edible! Oh Trap!

USDA Organic Certified Ingredients. Hmm..Whatever that means.. Mum tells this is good for our planet.. We Don't care.. Coz this bar is Inedible. Hmph.

Wrapped in...(consulting mum..).. she thinks it could be 'Sal' leaf. Whatever it is, we had crazy fun ripping it up! Oh and that Jute Rope too. He he..

Such a big leaf! No wonder we had lot's of fun!

This is how the Soap thingy looks.

And now, let's pounce on to the Review:

First of all, let us reveal to you all that we both usually have our own set of  Escape plans... that never really worked. :/ Because, these hoomans always succeed in cheating us by using the 'There's a Cat in the backyard!' bait. We start running mad and right when the bathroom is around, they just move us in to it. Oh Trap! If you've ever been to Tirumala temple, you know how it works. You'll just be standing there in the queue and you don't understand how you went 1 Km forward. So, we got no other choice but to bear that 10-15 minute Shampoo workout. :/

Then one day, This bar o soap from BON Organics arrived home. We were in no way excited. Then the Bath day arrived. And after the usual 'cat'spiracy, we were in the 'Bathroom Trap'. But, OCB(Oh our Chew Bones)! Everything was going on super fast! Like...it was unusual. One swipe and the foam was bubbling up like crazy. In no time..like in 3 minutes, we were released! Out of the Bathroom trap we mean.

That very moment, we decided to Love this soap forever! It leaves us supa clean in no time. And we never got any allergies either. And also, it kinda blew the fleas out of our furs! They didn't dare come near us for a pretty good while.

Mum says it smelt Kinda Herbal.. Like 'Tea tree'ish... 'Neem'ish...and a li'l 'Lemongrass'ish too. She wished it smelt more 'Lemon grass' or 'Citronella' or even 'Eucalyptus'. It seems these fragrances smell more Fresh and Lively. We don't know but it seems hoomans do.

But, we really wish it made our furries smoother. It was kinda feelin rough after bathing. That's our only complaint for now. Mum says, Chemical purified hardened water could be the culprit though.

Do we Recommend: Bow yeah! This is one 'Smooth Operator' we say. Come on Hoomans, Order this thingy called 'BON Organics Pet Soap' right now and solve you pal's Bathing woes we say.

Our Conclusion: We Declare This thingy called 'BON Organics Pet Soap' - Our 'Savior'. If only it left our fur fluffy soft, this would've been our Ultimate Savior. But, it definitely is our Savior where bathing 'Time' matters. Anyways, in one way or the other, This is our Savior. (Sorry for using the word 'Savior' so many times. Couldn't help but say it coz our happiness is knowing no bounds coz our bath time has insanely reduced. He he..)

Availability: We Recommend that you buy it on bonorganics.com

They ship thingies for free anywhere in India regardless of your cart value! Bowsome right!

And Right when Our Mum wanted a 'Good Girls' Pose from us...
Has anyone's pal been successful with the Kitty Mission? If yes, we would love some tips yo.

Here's an Animated depiction of the Attention Span of our kind.. At 1:26 Exactly:
From 'Secret Life of Pets' Movie.

By the way, it takes so long(10-15 mins) for us to bath because, we swear we don't stand in one place during the Shampoo workout. So, It is actually a workout for 'Them' than it is for us. He he he..

Azafran Lemongrass and Ginger Soap Review & Nirvaaha Palmarosa soap Review.

You must be Wondering why this picture is in Black & White! Let me clarify...

Here's the original pic. It looks sooo cluttered that you can't really give attention to the soap whose this pic is about! :P Right? :D

Let's jump to the Review now.

What the Brand saysGrown and distilled at our organic farms, lemongrass and ginger oil enhance this soap with its antiseptic properties and warm spicy and lemony  fragrance. Skin becomes moisturized with safflower and coconut oil and smooth to touch due to the organic soya wax . Soya is known for its key ingredient soy lecithin which provides extreme smoothness and moisturization to the skin and is freshly produced at our farms to be mixed in our soaps. This soap is mild enough to be used on the most sensitive of the skin and can be safely used on face and all over the body.

Ingredients: Sodium safflowerate, Sodium soyabenate, Aqua, Sodium Cocoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerine, Cymbopogon citratus oil, Zingiber officinale oil

Review of the Azafran Lemongrass and Ginger Soap:

This soap bar had a warm lemongrass fragrance with a hint of more warm ginger. Because of all the warmth involved, it was a good soap for winters. It lathered well, did not dry out the skin and lasted really long. I don't know why but, the brand decided to discontinue this variant. :(

But, i recently bought the 'Licorice and Saffron' variant. Let's wait and see how that one fares.

Nirvaaha Palmarosa soap

What the Brand saysPalma Rosa Soap is a 100% natural, handmade moisturizing and curative soap made from coconut oil and aloe vera and Palma Rosa Oil.Coconut oil moisturises the body, giving it a smooth feel. Aloe Vera, vitamin and mineral rich, nourishes the body and removes any unwanted spots on the skin.

Ingredients: Palma rosa oil, Cream and Aloe vera.

Price: 74/- INR!

What Nirvaaha has to say about Certification

Must read!

certification

It is important to follow a code of ethics and a set of standards to ensure the authenticity of one’s produce. At the same time, surprising how certification is not required to grow and sell chemically laden food while certification is required to grow and sell toxic-free food.

While we understand the need for a process to be in place, we feel it is important for the process to be fair and equal across socio-economic spheres. Currently, organic certification is expensive, limiting the number of people who can avail of it. However, there are certain groups such as the Participatory Guarantee Scheme (PGS - an internationally applicable organic quality assurance system) who are making efforts to decentralize the process of certification, involve more direct stakeholders, build a foundation of trust and make it a more economically viable initiative. Currently, most of our organic farmers are certified by PGS.

True dat! Let's believe the scenario is going to change soon.

Review of the Nirvaaha Palmarosa soap:

The soap in the above pic looks like somebody wet the soap, squished it and packed it to sell it. :P :D But, this is how they look like when they are Man'hand'led and not factory made. ;D

This is a nice budget soap that fulfills all the basic duties of a good soap. It doesn't dry out the skin and it smells nice and Rosy too!

Rating: 5/5 for performing awesome on such a low price.

Review:

1. Vetiver Soap:
I bought this soap with high expectations regarding the Fragrance. But Sadly, It disappointed me by smelling of almost nothing!

2. Neem Soap:
When i was suffering from Severe Acne i bought this soap thinking it would help me by controlling the breakouts. But Again, even this soap disappointed me by causing little painful and itchy pustules that were scattered allover my face.

Conclusion:
You can easily skip them. There are similar soaps available from BON Organics at lesser price.

Read the BON soap-Country Rose Review.

Dr.Hauschka Lip Care Stick Review.

I want to go to the top of the world and shout my heart out that "This is the Best, Magical and Most Wonderful piece of creation Ever!
That's how madly I Love This Lip care stick by Dr.Hauschka.

A little about this wonderful Brand: Dr.Hauschka is a genuine German natural cruelty free cosmetics brand created by Dr.Rudolf Hauschka in 1935 under WALA Foundation. Dr.Hauschka had to go through many obstacles regarding his natural formulations because no one back then were ready to accept that it was possible to formulate safe and effective products without synthetic chemicals. So, the products were actually launched in 1967 after collaborating with  Elisabeth sigmund. They use Renewable Raw materials from their own Bio-dynamic cultivation projects. They follow Sustainable business practices. No Lies. No Greenwashing.

Price: 15$

For Indian Shoppers, currently it is available on amazon.in for 1,599/- INR with Free shipping.

Ingredients:

My Experience: After reading awesome reviews, my interest in this product seriously hiked. I actually bought this product with very little expectations. Because, no lip care product has ever been able to help/rescue my dehydrated and super chappy lips.

But my my...This little yellow tube here, proved otherwise. My lips became super soft and supple right from the first application! It's Amazing how it healed/repaired and gave life to my Dead lips. From that day onwards, this little yellow sunshine stick earned my HG status! <3 (i wish blogger had emojis! :P)

And, it smells like warm Rose with a tiny hint of paan(betel leaf)! Delish happiness. <3
Pros:
  • Repairs and Heals Super Chapped lips..
  • Deeply Moisturises.
  • Smells of delicious roses.
  • Feels rich and silky after application.
  • Doesn't feel waxy at all.
  • Non-Toxic.
  • Paraben free. Mineral oil free. Silicone free. PEG free.
  • Cruelty Free.
  • Organic/Renewable ingredients from their own Bio-dynamic farms.
  • Eco-Friendly.
  • Biodegradable.
Cons:
  • The lip balm stick can become too hard in Winters. But, nothing a little warming up with fingers can not solve.
My Rating: 5/5 :)
Do i Recommend? Yes! Yes! and Yesssss! Try it to Believe it!

P.S: Guys, I am really Sorry for not posting regularly. I was not keeping well. Had to deal with Brand new MS symptoms. :-/ Now, i am feeling a little well...so...all happies :)

Tri Review: Soulflower Rose-Geranium Bath salt Review, Cnaan Soap-Roses and Soulflower Rose-Geranium Soap Review.

This is going to be a combined mini review post of 3 Roses... i mean... 3 different Rose products. :D
*3 Roses is an Indian Tea Brand.
Warning: If you had a Tough Thursday, Do Not Read This Post! A little (may be not so little) negativity here and there.Yep.Trust me.

1: Soulflower Rose-Geranium Bath salt.
Ingredients: Rosehip essential oil, Geranium essential oil, Thai Herbs, Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Borate, Epsom salt, Sea salts, Permitted Colorings.

My experience: I really like this bath salt for the super relaxing and de-stressing scent of Rose and Geranium essential oils. But, it stains everything it touches! From Bath tub, bucket, bathroom floor to Skin!!! I mean...seriously...Skin!!!! :-/ So, A big No No from me!

UPDATE: After reading this 'staining' problem that i mentioned, The Brand contacted me and assured that they will work on this issue. Yayyy!!! :)

2: Cnaan Soap - Roses.
I bought this 'Roses' soap from the UK based brand Cnaan with such high hopes but, it let me down so low that i decided not to look at anything from this brand ever again! The reason for my hatred is it's blah fragrance. It smells of stale dry rose petals! Now, who wants to bath with that!? So, Again.. a Big No No!

Ingredients: Ah..don't even bother.

By now, you must be thinking: 'When she hates it so much, why did she even write this review!?
Ans: Just didn't want the pretty pictures to go waste! :P

3: Soulflower Rose-Geranium Soap.
Like all the other natural soaps from Soulflower, this one is also Amazing! It is non-drying, gives a rich lather and features the wonderful Rose-Geranium scent.

So sad that they discontinued this wonderful smelling soap! Why? :(

The next Review post will be of a product that will lift your spirits.I Promise!

Review: Soulflower 'Rose Geranium' Aroma Massgae oil.

*The Monsoon 'Rose'mance series*

Price: 450/- INR.

Quantity: 90 ml.

Ingredients: Rose essential oil,Rosehip oil, Geranium essential oil, Vitamin E, Jojoba, Olive, Rice bran & Sesame oils.

Ingredient Safety: Safe. Does not contain any toxic ingredients like Artificial fragrance and Mineral oil.

Organic ingredients: Not sure. Because, it is clearly mentioned on their website that the fruits and vegetables they use in their soaps are for sure organic but it is not clearly mentioned whether their oils are sourced from organic ingredients.

Eco friendly/Biodegradable? No clarity about the eco-friendliness. Because, they did not mention if the oils are from an organic source and also did not mention if the packaging material is in any form, eco friendly. And Yes, as it is just a mixture of oils, they are Biodegradable for sure.

A Happy Round of Applause Please

*Make in India*

Sourced local-Made local!
Read about it HERE.

I am really glad that their Ingredients are Sourced local and their Products are Made local. They surely have Reduced their quota of 'Carbon Foot Print'! Yaaayyy...! :)

Packaging: Comes in a beautiful looking plastic bottle with a white hard plastic cap housed in a sturdy cardboard box. But the bottle is so fragile that i put a fair dent in mine even when handling it carefully. :-/

Notice the dry rose petals at the bottom? <3 and also, the dent? :-/

This tiny rose made with a thick 'felt' kind of hand made paper looks super cute!

Availability: Easily available online at Soulflower.biz and many more popular e-retail websites. Also available offline at Shoppers stop and Home stop.

My experience:
One beautiful day, i recieved the package, i opened the bottle, sniffed it and massaged away to glory! In one word: Amazing! Yes, i fell in love with it the first time i used it. It relaxed both my mind and body completely. It smells heavenly and feels luxurious. It relieves stress and anxiety. The consistency of this massage oil is also perfect.

Pros:

  • Luxurious and relaxing Rose-geranium fragrance.
  • Relaxes you inside-out.
  • Helps with stress and anxiety.
  • Is made of Genuinely Beneficial ingredients.
  • Rosehip oil is a wonderful addition.
  • Contains real Rose oil. This is a pro because, most rose scented natural products in India actually contain no Rose oil but are filled with Palmarosa which gives out a 'Rose'ish scent.
  • Handmade.
  • Locally sourced 'Indian origin' ingredients.
  • Does not contain Artificial Fragrance and Mineral oil.
  • Preservative free.

Cons:

  • The bottle. Looks beautiful but is super fragile. It is very difficult to handle as it is made of thin plastic and gets disfigured easily even when handled carefully.

My Rating: 5/5.

My conclusion: If you need a relaxing massage oil which doesn't contain any toxic artificial fragrances or mineral oil, then Definitely go for this Rose-Geranium Aroma massage oil from Soulflower. Also, This is perfect for a Monsoon 'Rose'mance! ;)

Review: Rustic Art Celestial Biodegradable Rose shampoo.

Rustic Art Celestial Biodegradable Rose shampoo.

Price: 350/- INR.

Quantity: 200ml.

About the Brand: In their own words: We are Nature Lovers! There is no better way of explaining who we are. They say one should be passionate about the vocation one takes! We did exactly that. We set out to share our love for the environment, in style. With Rustic Art we encourage use of products which are closer to nature, pure and capture the real essence of its ingredients.

We believe in living a life which is free of harmful toxins, chemicals and artificial elements. We define this as rustic! To bring rustic-ness to every aspect of our lives is our constant endeavour. Rustic Art is an extension of our passion towards using environment friendly, nature sensitive products.

Awesome...right!

Consistency: 'Gel'ish liquid which is moderately runny.

Fragrance: Warm and mild rose-geranium fragrance which feels quite soothing unlike the soapy odour of the Aloevera version.

Packaging: Sturdy. Flip cap shuts tight and you can travel with it safely.

The bottle's label design has changed now and i absolutely hate it! I seriously hope that Rustic Art reverts back to their old label design!

What do you think?
Pic taken from Rustic Art's Website

Ingredients: Demineralized Aqua, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Alpha Olefin Sulphonate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Laurydimonium Hydroxypropyl, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Essential Oils of Wild Rose and Geranium, Natural Preservative of OLG, Ascorbic Acid, Cocamidopropyl Betaine.

Ingredient Safety: Safe and non-toxic ingredients. Surfactants used are Bio-degradable. In case you are wondering about OLG, it is nothing but a natural preservative blend of Orange oil, Lemon Grass oil and sesame oil providing broad spectrum bactericidal activity along with a good aroma.

Certification: It is mentioned on their website that they use certified organic ingredients but the product as a whole does not hold any certification.

Eco friendly/Biodegradable: Yes.

Cruelty free? Yes. And it's also Vegan.

Swatch: Refer the review post of Rustic Art Aloe shampoo for the swatch. This one just has a slight pink tinge.

My Experience:
This shampoo performs better regarding all aspects in comparison to their Aloe shampoo. It is more moisturizing and works better with hard bore well water than their Aloe version. I foams like crazy even with as tiny as 2 drops diluted in 1/4th glass of water just like their Aloe version(Multiple surfactants and foam boosters in action here!) And also, it has a wonderful slip just like the conventional silicone based shampoos without actually containing any silicone in it <3.

Don't opt for this if you have dry hair as the multiple surfactants in it will make it more dry and frizzy.

Just as the brand claims, it works best on oily hair. But don't expect soft, bouncy and frizz-free hair unless you have a supply of soft water. For combination hair, post wash conditioner is compulsory if you are using it with hard water. Otherwise, pre-wash oil application is more than enough.

After the disappointing experience regarding the soapy, gag-inducing fragrance of the Rustic Art Aloe shampoo, this Rose version was a huge relief! It smells so soothing that i just scoop some foam out the hair and keep smelling it instead of rinsing it off :P :D

Availability: Available only online at: Rusticart.in, Amazon.in, Nykaa.com, Organicshop.in and many more.

Pros:
  • Soothing fragrance.
  • SLS and Paraben free.
  • Safe, non-toxic ingredients.
  • Removes oil quite effectively. Hence, best for oily hair.
  • More moisturizing than their Aloe shampoo.
  • Makes hair look bouncy, shiny and healthy when used with soft water.
  • Very little quantity required.
  • Wonderful slip. Feels just like a silicone based shampoo while not actually containing any.
  • Budget friendly as it lasts a very long time(because of the slip and foam).
  • Eco friendly and Biodegradable.
  • Vegan and Cruelty free.
Cons:
  • Works well only with soft water. With hard water, it dries out the hair and makes it frizzy(which can be managed with a good conditioner though).
  • Available only online.
My Rating: 3.5/5

My Conclusion: If you have oily hair, have a soft water supply and are looking for a good budget friendly natural shampoo, then by all means, go for it. Otherwise, either be prepared with loads of conditioner at hand or just strike it off your list.

Review: Neev Rose Olive Bodywash.

Here's the Second post for "The Monsoon 'Rose'mance" series :)
Above image: 30 ml sample bottle that i tried first.

Brand: Neev. Website.

Price: 30ml = 40/- INR, 100 ml =120/- INR and 200ml = 220/- INR.

About Neev: NEEV was born as a result of the questions that the founders 'Shikha jain' and 'Anurag jain' sought answers for, as a non-profit Trust in 2006. Through NEEV they were interested in finding a sane way of living, not only for the self but for the other too - for the Sociosphere, Biosphere and the Geosphere.

After joining the "Krishnamurti Foundation of India" and getting inspired by the teachings of J.Krishnamurthi, They started 'NEEV School' for the urban and rural underprivileged children in the year 2006, to provide them with Integral Education.

Vision of the Brand: "Neev Herbal Handmade Soaps is a social enterprise based on Integral Living that reveres and celebrates harmony between man and nature. We aim to produce the highest quality handcrafted herbal products while providing a dignified means of employment for rural women and regenerating rural economy."
<3 *clap* *clap* *clap* :)

Let's move on to the Review now...

Ingredients: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Lye, Tween 80, Distilled Water and pure essential oils of Rose Oil, Geranium Oil, Rosemary, Palmarosa, Rose Petals.

Ingredient safety: 100% Safe.

Eco-friendly/Biodegradable?  I wasn't sure what Tween 80 was. But came to learn that it is a Bio-compatible non-ionic surfactant. It is non-toxic and environmental friendly.

Certification: Certified as per BIS standards. However, this is not useful for evaluating genuine natural cosmetics. But, after reading their vision, i feel like trusting them even without ECOCERT/USDA like certifications. The old product used to be Registered under 'Khadi and Village Industries Commission'.

Rose petal bits. <3

Consistency: Thin runny liquid.

Fragrance:  Strong woody Rose-Geranium.

My experience: 'Rose' fragrance on any label instantly attracts me. So, when i spotted this sample in the gift box containing soaps which i ordered for my sister, i just had to give it a try. And i am so glad i did! The strong Woody Rose-Geranium scent both relaxes and energizes my mind.

After the disappointing experience with Aloe-Lavender version, this was a 'scent' of relief. It lathers and cleans beautifully and does not dry the skin out. The fragrance lingers on for quite a while. The only drawback is it's thin runny consistency. Because, more product is required to form sufficient lather on the loofah and this way, you are going to run out of the product very quickly. But, if you use your palms to lather it up like i do, it will last long.

One time, when i bought a bottle of this body wash, it was cloudy and had a thick consistency.
You can see the difference in the picture below. But it worked fine. No worries... because, this is common with Natural formulations.

Sample bottle. New Improved packaging. These are super useful while traveling.

Pros:
  • That strong woody Rose-Geranium fragrance which both energizes and relaxes my mind. It does not fade after washing and lingers on for quite a while on the skin.
  • Lathers well, cleans well and washes off really well.
  • Does not strip the skin off all it's oils.
  • Does not irritate sensitive skin.
  • Budget friendly.
  • Eco-friendly and Bio degradable.
  • Simple, Safe and Genuinely natural ingredient list.
Cons:
Thin runny consistency. I wish it was more viscous.

Rating: 4.5/5

My Conclusion: I am on my 3rd bottle! That's how much i like it. If you are looking for a simple and no-fuss budget friendly genuine natural body wash that also smells really good, then.. just.. go.. grab it without any second thoughts! :)
